The most consistent comment I hear about what people want in friendships is this: “I want a friend I can laugh with.” We all want friends we can enjoy! People who consistently bring us down with their problems and complaints are generally not the ones we want to pal around with for any length of time. Of course, sometimes a friend will go through a difficult time, and we need to be ready and willing to hold a hand and provide a listening ear. But a friend in need is different from a habitual whiner. We want our friendships to be positive and uplifting — and that means we must be positive, uplifting friends ourselves. It has been said that there are two kinds of people: those who brighten the room when they enter, and those who brighten the room when they leave. Let’s make sure we’re brightening our friendships with our presence.
Hello!!Welcome back to feliinspiremyworld ! Hope You stay safe and feel relaxed wherever you’re, glad to have you here again. In the last post, I talked about TIPS TO BE A GOOD FRIEND if you’ve not read it, you should.
10. Don't use friends. If one of your friends suspects that you're just using them, then they'll drop you like a hot potato. Good friendships don't arise from hoping someone else's popularity or networks will rub off on you. If you're trying to be friends with a person just to get into a certain clique, that's not friendship – its opportunism – and eventually, the shallow nature of your involvement will reveal itself. And if you have a reputation for using people, then new people won't be too excited to start a friendship with you. Friendship is about giving and taking. Sure, it may be convenient that one of your friends gives you a ride to school every day, but make sure that you do something for that friend in return.
11. Be respectful. Good friends show respect for each other by being openly and mutually supportive. If your friend has certain values and beliefs that don't align with your own, respect his or her choices, and be open to hearing more about them. If you want your friend to trust you, then your friend should feel comfortable voicing opinions that you may not agree with, or discussing a new perspective with you. If your friend thinks that you'll shoot down any interesting or original idea that they may have, then your friendship won't be valued.
12. Start saying yes. It’s not a good feeling to be turned down by your friends. Sometimes life gets in the way and that’s okay. After all, remember the point about boundaries. However, I know how easy it is to say no. It becomes habitual. It’s just so easy when you’re “not feeling it.” Make it a point to say yes more often to your friends when you can. You’re not that busy. Unless you’re absolutely certain there is no possibility of making room for your friends, you have no reason to have no time for your friends. It’s easy to convince yourself you’re too busy. Don’t buy into your own stories. Always make time for them because it’s easy to drift apart.
13. Give your friend some space when they need it- Part of being supportive means supporting the fact that your friend won't always want to spend time with you. Learn to step back and give your friend space. Understand if your friend wants to be alone or to hang out with other people. There's no need to become clingy or needy. If you're clingy and check in with your friend every two seconds if they aren't around, you'll start to look like a possessive significant other, and that will not be appreciated. Don't get jealous if your friend has lots of other friends. Every relationship is special and different, and that doesn't mean that your friend doesn't appreciate you. Allowing one another the time to hang with other friends gives you a much-needed breathing room, and allows you to come together with fresh and appreciating each other even more.
15. Let your friendship evolve. If you want to be a good friend, then you have to understand that your friendship won't be the same in high school, college, or in the adult world. Sure, when you were fourteen, you might have spent all of your time with your best friend, but by the time you went off to separate colleges or started your serious relationships, you naturally spent less time talking. This doesn't mean that your friendship isn't as strong; it just means that your lives are evolving, and your friendship is taking on a different shape over the years.
Don't try to make your friendship be exactly the same as it was ten years ago. Think of it as elastic, not solid. If your friend is married with kids or even just in a serious relationship, and you're not, be respectful of the fact that, while your friend cares for you, they won't be on call 24/7 like they used to be. Appreciate the changes your friendship has made over the years, and learn to grow along with your relationship.
16 . Appreciate their efforts- Whether it’s a small or big thing, learn to value what your friends have done for you. You may not know how much thinking, planning, and efforts they have spent just to offer something for you. Of course, genuine friends will not expect something in return for any kindness they show you, but a little appreciation would not harm you.
17. Don’t make them feel alone and help them grow as a person-Never make your friends feel alone, even during a fight, argument, or misunderstanding. Do not create a wall that will stop you from communicating, caring, and helping for good no matter what. Do not corrupt your friends’ character. Instead, help them grow as a person. Be a role model of good virtues, like self-discipline, patience, persistence, honesty, and kindness.
18. Be open to feedback-Asking for your friend’s comments, thoughts, and opinions on your latest project or a decision you have to make is a huge compliment to them. If you solicit their feedback to help you build self-awareness, create new habits, and make positive changes, this shows how much you value their insights. Whether they have similar or different backgrounds, beliefs, and philosophies, good friends bring a unique perspective to your life.

19. Be selfless and make a sacrifice. Real friends make sacrifices for their friends. Without sacrifice, you will find it hard to follow the tips above. Sacrifice your own pride to be humble enough to forgive your friends. Sacrifice your own time to be with them and not make them feel alone. Sacrifice your energy to help them in any way. And sacrifice your self-interest to make your friendship grow and even last forever.
Finally, if you want to keep good friends, put the phone down. My goal for this year is to spend less time on my phone. When I’m out with my friends, the phone stays in my bag. We’re getting so caught up in our online worlds that we sometimes forget to actually connect with each other in person. Spend time with your friends when you’re with them. Nothing is worse than talking to someone who’s only half-listening. Show up at their celebrations, including birthday parties, graduation shindigs, weddings, and baby showers. Even if it’s just for an hour, your putting in the face Chat at special events will be remembered and appreciated. You get to capture touching photos and make lasting memories of shared experiences and unique occasions.
Try something new together. Have you always wanted to try a new fitness class or learn a new skill? Make your friend come along.

Thanks for your time and love.
