THE PURPOSE OF FORGIVENESS

We've all been in circumstances where we've done something wrong and want forgiveness from our spouse, relatives, friends, or even coworkers. The one we most need to forgive is sometimes ourselves. Then there are those times when someone asks for forgiveness and we have to look deep inside ourselves to offer it without conditions. It's difficult! It's a very strong thing, whether you're offering or accepting forgiveness. Fortunately, the Bible contains a wealth of information on the subject, including Bible verses about healing, which can go hand in hand with forgiveness. After all, forgiving is a form of love, and love is the most valuable gift we can offer.

Hello 😊!!Welcome, back to Felinspiremyworld! Hope You stay safe and feel relaxed wherever you’re, glad to have you here again. In the last post, I talked about FORGIVENESS if you’ve not read it, you should. Today I will be talking about the Purpose of Forgiveness.

"The most powerful thing you can do for your physiology and spirituality is to forgive. Despite this, it remains one of the least appealing aspects to us, owing to our egos' absolute dominance. To forgive has a connotation of saying "it's all right," as if we embrace the evil deed. This, however, is not forgiveness.

1. Forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself
“It’s one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, to forgive. Forgive everybody.” ~ Maya Angelo

Your mind might try to convince you that forgiveness is “letting someone off the hook,” and that you are in fact doing those who mistreated you a fav-our by forgiving them, but the truth of the matter is that you are doing yourself a fav-our. Forgiveness is a gift to yourself that allows you to be at ease, happy, and sleep at night. You're not doing this for them; you're doing it for yourself, to be free of the pain, rage, and helplessness that have held the two of you together for so long, and to be at peace.

2. Forgiveness is a courageous act.-Despite what you might have been taught, forgiveness is a courageous act. You forgive not because you are helpless, but because you are strong enough to recognize that the only way to be content and at peace is to let go of resentments.

3. Forgiveness is a sign of self-love -“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

Love yourself enough to let go of all the toxicity from your life and free yourself from all the anger, bitterness and resentments. If you’re mad, be mad. Don’t hide and suppress your feelings. Let it all out, but once you’re done with being mad, allow forgiveness to enter your heart. Let go and love!

4. When you forgive, you find peace

“If you let go a little you will have a little peace; if you let go a lot you will have a lot of peace; if you let go completely you will have complete peace.” ~ Ajahn Chah

Peace of mind is what you find the moment you let go of any grudges and any resentments you might be holding on to. The moment you say to yourself: “It is time to let go, it is time to forgive”, that will be the moment you will find peace.

5. If you forgive, you will be forgiven
“In this world, you are given as you give. And you are forgiven as you forgive. While you go your way through each lovely day, you create your future as you live.” ~ Peace Pilgrim

In life, we get what we give, and we reap what we sow. And since we’re all humans, and we all make mistakes, the more we forgive others for past, present and future mistakes, the more others will forgive us when we will make mistakes. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Like so many things, the purpose of forgiveness is not the end of the process. The purpose of the dance is not to finish dancing. The purpose of a vacation is not the plane ride home. The purpose of forgiveness is to transform pain into insight and suffering into depth.

Forgiveness starts right in the core of resentment and anger the second we become willing to let it go. If you have been trying to forgive for years, for years you have been forgiving.
It is a wise and honest part of ourselves that will not move on until we have taken the journey as far as it needs to go. There are many paths up the mountain, the most beautiful are irrigated with tears. Here are some things I have learned:

1.Forgiveness is a creative process. The more creativity you can bring, the more profound the insights and the quicker the process will resolve. So write about it, fingerprint what your pain looks like, make collages, act out where you've been in your own interpretive dance. Let the art be where the ugly is seen.

2. Take care of yourself and learn how to rest - I tend to intellectualize or distract myself when I need a break. Don't let taking a break become a way of life, though. When the anger or resentment returns, go back to the creative process as soon as you can and for as long as you can.

Pray for the person that harmed you. Pray that they have all the things you yourself truly desire. In particular, pray that they are well enough and wise enough to not hurt people any more.
Look for helpers and guides. Because forgiveness occurs on more levels than just ego, your psyche will try to position you to meet people who can assist you on this journey. This is particularly true if you have been praying for the person you are trying to forgive.

The fact that you don't have to do this stuff doesn't mean you won't. Restraint, on the other hand, can keep things from getting any more complicated than they already are. On the other hand, your errors will be incorporated into what you understand in the end, so be more forgiving than necessary if you make a mistake.

                         Forgiveness's Advantages
*It aids in the release of anger, hate, and bitterness.
*Your soul is set free from the bonds of hate and sin.
*Protects you from physical and mental ailments caused by bitterness and forgiveness.
*Your mind is freed, and you are no longer under the influence of the person who has harmed you.
*Your heart begins to recover and rebuild itself.
*It aids in the restoration of your spiritual relationship with God.
*You chose to obey God and let Him handle the matter by deciding to forgive.
*Your tranquillity has been returned.
*You have the ability to move on with your life.
*The weight of forgiveness is lifting off your shoulders, and you are able to feel God's peace.

The aim of forgiveness is to bring about healing. For both yourself and the other. However, just because you forgive does not mean you can forget. This is focused on the seriousness of the crime, the conduct of the victim, and the overall context of the case. Total "forgiveness" (and sometimes complete forgiveness) must sometimes be received over time. In general, it is preferable to be a forgiving person; otherwise, you would bear a grudge like a burden on your shoulders. Forgiveness relieves you of this burden and allows a friendship to continue.

When we can't see any other way for history to have happened other than the way it did, forgiveness is complete. When we are grateful for the lessons we have learned and the person we have become, we forgive.
At some point in our lives, we all make mistakes. You may be aware that many people bear their pasts with them at all times, sacrificing only the happiness they have.
Please don't put yourself through this. Nobody has any influence over the consequences of his decisions. As a result, we forgive others in order to avoid harming ourselves for the remainder of our lives. Not because we are good people, but because we have the opportunity today to improve our lives for our families and loved ones.

Let us not dwell on how people have mocked us, abandoned us, and made our lives a living hell to living alone.

Simply forgive them so that you can live in peace and see what life has to bring.

If you're in need of forgiveness right now, or if you need any encouragement to forgive someone in your life, consider these Bible verses about forgiveness's healing, redemption, and peace.

Matthew 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Proverbs 17:9 “Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.”

Word for the day: When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free. — Katherine Ponder

Verse for the week: Luke 17:3-4
3 -So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them.
4- Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
